The Great American Picnic - come celebrate a Cape Coral 4th of July at one of the most fun of the Cape Harbour events.
If you're looking for something to do during the day before the fireworks at Red, White, and Boom; you will want to go to Cape Harbour, a lovely waterfront community that has shops and restaurants.
The fun starts at noon, so bring the whole family for some old-fashioned fun and to honor our military ........ and don't forget your pets too. The Patriotic Pet Costume Contest is held in the early afternoon, and all kinds of dogs, from the teeniest to the hugest, get dressed up in red, white, and blue.
Watch the video below to see some of the contest:
It's a lot of fun, some of the dogs are so cute, some of them are so funny. There are many prizes for all!
There is also an apple pie baking contest, a kids banana split eating contest and other kids activities.
Later on in the afternoon, enjoy live music and food. Cafe Pignoli is usually grilling outside, or try the thin crust pizza at The Joint, and Run Agrounds gelato is so refreshing.
There's free admission and plenty of free parking. It's even fun just to walk around and watch people, and check out the boats at the marina.
