Dempseys Diner - Now called the Starlight Diner, where you'll love the food and 50's style decor of this Cape Coral restaurant!
Elvis "greets" you as you walk up to the front door, and you can sit inside or out.
Booths feature that aqua blue that was so popular in the 50's, and the pattern on the formica-topped tables seem to be an authentic to that time.
Records hang from the ceiling, a vintage Coke machine sits in the corner, and one wall is painted to look like a drive-in theater. I also really like the back of a Cadillac that decorates another wall, the gleaming chrome and checkered floor. Those were the good old days!
Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are served all day long ........ that means you can order anything off the menu whenever you want.
We went for breakfast, and Nicole got a breakfast wrapper with sausage. I got the Belgian Waffle smothered with fresh strawberries and whipped cream ......... it was yummy dee-lish!
You can build your own omelet, order pancakes and French
toast, breakfast platters, and sausage or chipped beef gravies over
toast, biscuits, hash browns, fries, or pancakes.
For lunch or dinner, I hear the burgers are awesome ........ a half pounder for the great price of $6.99!
I want to go back for one of their Hot Open-Face Sandwiches. Now that would really bring back memories of my childhood, when we would go on road trips and stop at HoJo's. I would always get a hot roast beef or hot turkey sandwich with gravy and mashed potatoes.
You'll also find a variety of hot and cold sandwiches, subs, and salads on the menu along with dinner entrees such as meatloaf, fried chicken, pot roast, ribs, Shrimp Jambalaya, and more!
For beverages, order handmade malts, ice cream floats, and shakes ...... or beer and wine, and even champagne.
Kids have their own menu, and this is the first restaurant I've seen that offers a free snack of fruit to kids who aren't hungry.
Dempseys Diner is open everyday from 8AM-9PM.
