New England Moorings

New England Moorings - There's going out to eat and then there's having a party!

This Cape Coral seafood restaurant and bar is such a fun place to go with it's really good food, wacky Florida decor, and friendly service.

Moorings feels like family and the owner, Al, helps to make it feel that way with his generosity and funny stories.

Al's been cooking up a storm since the late 80's at Cape Coral's longest running restaurant, and he usually comes out to talk to his customers and hand out free samples.  Dinner portions are huge and everything was absolutely delicious!

I love how the place is decorated with Florida-themed items and stuffed animals hanging all over the place.

Some of the seating has TV's, and tables have a bit of a sense of privacy since the dining room is set up as a series of alcoves.

If the weather is comfortable, sit outside at the patio and bar which also has a fun atmosphere.

Seafood is the star on the menu ......... chowdah, mussels, shrimp, scrod, tilapia, grouper, crab cakes, and more.

Appetizers, entrees, platters, and specials are prepared with a Floribbean flair and New England influences.

For non-seafood lovers, you can also order chicken, pork or steak.

We started out with some Gator Bites ...... the best I've ever had!  We than had Fried Green Tomatoes and Bourbon Shrimp ........ mmmmmmmmmm!

We next had the Mango Salsa Scrod with angel hair pasta and veggies.  It was topped with chunks of mango and a tomato sauce and it was awesome!

We finished up with a canoli for dessert ........... also very tasty.  If you haven't been to NE Moorings yet, you should go, you'll be glad you did!
