Hunters Run
Hunters Run is Cape Coral's executive golf course, it's located smack dab in the middle of the city in a lovely residential neighborhood.
The L-shaped course has 9 holes and is off of Nicholas Pkwy East, between Santa Barbara and Cultural Park Blvds.
HuntersRun was designed by Dick Wilson and built in 1961.
The golf course is almost as old as Cape Coral is!
Ground was broken for the first home here in 1958.
It was called Cape Coral Executive then, but was bought out by the present owner in 2000, completely renovated in 2008, and renamed after the owners son.
Softly rolling hills, mature trees, and 3 lakes are framed by houses that circle around the course.
Because the course has only 9 holes, you can either walk it, or ride on golf carts for an extra fee.
It's perfect for a quick game at lunch during the work week, for senior citizens, or those who don't want to spend so much time out in the heat.
No tee times are required and they have leagues that you can play in if you want to be sure to get in regular play.
Because of that, there are some rules you should know about:
- Let faster, more experienced players go ahead of you if you are a slower player.
- Rake traps and repair ball marks.
- Keep golf carts off tees, greens, and mounds, only golfers are permitted on course.
- Each player must have their own clubs, proper dress, and soft pikes only.
- No practice on course, use ball rack in absense of starter.
I have a neighbor who plays there and he reports that play is fast, they have great greens, a very good layout, low prices ......... and the fairway, tees and boxes are all in really good shape.
The pro shop is fully stocked, you can rent golf clubs, and the snack bar serves refreshments including beer and wine.
Annual, associate, and 8-month passes are available for individuals or couples.
