Cape Coral Beach - Yacht Club Beach is where we go for sun, sand, and swimming!
Cape Coral has a nice sandy white beach on the Caloosahatchee River in a residential neighborhood of nice homes and beach rentals.
Because the beach is small, it is mainly a family beach, and therefore, we don't have problems with crowds and partying spring-breakers.
Our favorite months to go to the beach are March and November when temperatures are in the low 80's. But, we have gone year round because I absolutely love going to the beach!
You can go jet skiing, boating, and fishing from Cape Coral's Yacht Club Beach because there's a boat launch at one end of the beach and a fishing pier at the other end.
By the way, the picture above at the top of my website, is of the Yacht Club Beach and I took it from the fishing pier.
The beach has a snack bar, KC's River Stop, that sometimes has live music playing.
I loved their skewered shrimp, they serve typical beach fare ..... burgers, hot dogs, and other kinds of sandwiches.
Besides the beach, Cape Coral Yacht Club also has a public swimming pool, a ballroom and beach pavilion for functions, tennis courts, and a marina.
You've got to go to the Sunset Celebration, which is the first Wednesday of every month.
It's a lot of fun to go to ......... have dinner at the snack bar, or bring a picnic dinner and enjoy the live music.
There are covered areas with picnic tables and grills, or just bring a blanket or your own chairs.
They also have tables set up with people selling crafts outside, and in the pavilion.
We've even seen a beach wedding ceremony or two!
I love to see if the bride will wear a traditional white dress or something tropical.
Yacht Club Beach is also where one of the 50 worst movies ever made was filmed back in the 60's, The Fat Spy.
If you hear a lot of birds chattering, it's the green parrots that live in trees around the beach.
I still haven't found out how they got there but they definitely add to the tropical feeling of this Cape Coral beach.
Any other chattering is probably coming from the beach's playground!
Some of the best Florida Gulf Coast beaches, Sanibel, Captiva, Ft Myers, and Lovers Key, are not too far away.
Sanibel beaches and Ft Myers Beaches are about 35 minutes away,Captiva Beaches are about another 25 minutes further.
Ft. Myers Beach is nice to go to as long as it's not during spring break time.
Lovers Key is about 15 minutes south from Ft Myers Beach.
If you don't mind driving a little further from Cape Coral, beaches in Bonita Springs and Naples are beautiful.
As I've found at any beach, it's best to there by 11 AM to get the best parking, particularly during their busy-season.
Grab your suntan lotion, umbrella, beach blanket and go to Yacht Club Beach!
Just take Cape Coral Pkwy, turn south on Coronado Pkwy, which turns into Driftwood Pkwy and follow it to the end.
