North Captiva Island Rentals and Real Estate - Fabulous vacation homes on a tropical island paradise with turquoise waters, white-sand beaches, and lots of natural beauty!
Half of this captivating island is a Florida state park with paths through tropical vegetation and along the beach where you'll see wildlife, enjoy nature, collect shells.
The other half of the island has 370+ homes scattered on picturesque sandy lanes where you either walk, bike, or cruise around on a golf cart.
Approximately 30 new houses are built each year with a maximum build-out of 450 in total. This way, the charm and attraction of the island is preserved and maintained.
And, the peace and quiet you'll find here makes for a lovely and relaxing vacation for families large and small.
Homes are part of the North Captiva Island Club Resort, or Barnacles Island Resort ............ both rent, manage, and maintain the properties associated with either resort. They can even help you with a wedding!
Rentals run from approximately $1000/week to $5000/week+ depending on how many the home sleeps and what season it is.
One year, my extended family came down and we rented a property through the club for the week after Christmas.
The only way to get to North Captiva is by ferry, boat taxi, private boat, or small plane.
The Island Girl ferry is located at Pineland Marina on Pine Island, just off the coast of Cape Coral.
For more information about the Just for Fun Boat Taxi, private boat charter, and the shuttle from SWFL International Airport to the ferries, go to How To Get to North Captiva.
Once you rent your vacation property, the North Captiva Island Club will send instructions, help, and information on getting to the island, what to bring, where to get groceries, and what to expect.
It takes about 20-30 minutes by ferry or water taxi to get to the marina at Safety Harbor.
I
remember bringing tons of groceries for all 16 of us and we had just
enough to get us through the whole week.
If you should ever need anymore while you're there, the charter has a service to pick up groceries for you.
Luggage and supplies are unloaded from the ferry to the reception area of the club's marina.
That's where you check in, get your golf cart, and get your supplies loaded up on a cart and taken to your rental.
Check in to North Captiva island rentals is 4PM, check out is 10AM. Make sure you coordinate with the club and charter service to book the best ferry for you, whether from Island Girl or through the club.
The marina is also the location of club amenities such as pool, tennis courts, kayak and boat rentals, restaurants, bar, and grocery shop.
We rented a 3-story house close to the beach with plenty of space, a yard for playing soccer, pool, balconies and cupola with amazing views.
Our rental was actually on the airstrip ...... it was so much fun to watch planes landing and taking off!
As a matter of fact, you can actually tan at the beach right under where the planes fly over to and from the strip .......... pretty scary!
Love North Captiva so much you want to buy a vacation home or live there year round? There are actually about 50 full-time residents!
Although there are many million dollar homes, you can find a several for around $700K, with a few available under $400K, and even some condos and small homes going for $200-300K.
