Captiva Boat Rentals - On your vacation go boating, fishing, and cruising ........ get out on the water!
Captiva has several places in town where you rent or dock a boat, take a cruise, go kayaking, sailing, parasailing, fishing, stand up paddleboarding, or hire a fishing guide.
If you're fortunate to be staying at Tween Waters Inn and South Seas Island Resort, both of these Captiva resorts offer many of these boating options.
The aqua blue waters of the Gulf of Mexico look so inviting, even if you don't have a boat or rent one, you'll definitely want to take a cruise of some sort.
There are many kinds of cruises, search for shells on Cayo Costa, go for a Cheeseburger in Paradise on the island of Cabbage Key, go fishing for Florida's game fish.
While you're on vacation, there's nothing like a lovely sunset cruise or sail. On most cruises you'll see dolphins, shore birds, and possibly manatees.
Or, just go to one of the outer islands of Useppa, Cayo Costa, Cabbage Key, or Boca Grande.
There are marinas at Jensens, McCarthys, Tween Waters Inn, and South Seas Island Resort along with boat rentals from YOLO Watersports.
Jensens Marina and Cottages is the perfect place to stay on Captiva for those who like to fish!
If you have your own boat, they have plenty of dockage ......... or you can rent a 24' pontoon, 18' Center Console, or 16' Skiff.
Hire a fishing guide, and rent or buy fishing tackle and bait, all right here. You can even stay at one of their delightful cottages.
This part of Florida has some of the best fishing in the world and your Captiva fishing guide will help you catch fish such as Tarpon, Redfish, Grouper, Trout, Bluefish, Spanish Mackerel, Cobia, Snook, Shark, and many more.
Did you know that we have several wrecks in the waters off of our Southwest Florida coast which make not only for some amazing diving, but amazing fishing as well. Go to my Cape Coral Diving page to find out all about it!
Go to my Cape Coral Fishing page to find out what to expect on your fishing trip, how to prepare, the best seasons for particular fish, and more information.
Jensen's is located on Captiva Drive, before you get to Andy Rosse Lane.
Further up the street and situated on the corners of Captiva Drive and Andy Rosse Lane, is McCarthy's Marina. The marina has transient and annual dockage.
McCarthy's is also the location for Captiva Kayak Company and Captiva Cruises.
Choose from one of these cruises that leave from McCarthys Marina or South Seas Island Resort:
We had the most enjoyable sunset cruise. We left from McCarthys and went into Yacht Harbour at South Seas and got a good look at this most beautiful resort, then headed over to Redfish Pass between Captiva and North Captiva.
As we cruised up North Captiva, we saw lots of dolphins frolicking and jumping out of the water!
The sunset was amazing, the beauty and glory of nature was all around us ........... make sure you bring your camera!
Contact Captiva Cruises to find out the featured cruises of the day, which ones are in season, and cruise times, call (239)472-5300. South Seas guests can dial direct at x3329.
You can also rent kayaks, canoes, go sailing, and take tours from Captiva Kayak Company at (239)395-2925.
To hire a fishing guide and for other information, call McCarthy's Marina at (239)472-5200.
Sorry, but there is no ramp or trailer storage. They are open from 8AM-5PM.
There are 2 marinas at South Seas Island Resort, Bayside Marina at South Village and Yacht Harbour Marina at Northpointe.
Yacht Harbour Marina features dockage for boats up to 120' with amenities such as electric and freshwater hook ups, cable TV, gas, showers, and laundry facilities. They are open 8AM-4:30PM on weekdays, and 8AM-5:30PM weekends.
Bayside Marina has dockage for boats up to 25', ramp available for boats up to 30'. Since boat ramp is locked because it is unattended, call ahead to make arrangements with Yacht Harbour staff for docking and launching. Wireless internet and freshwater available. Fees charged for launch, trailer storage, or overnight guests.
As I mentioned before, you can cruise with Captiva Cruises from Yacht Harbour Marina. Fishing charters are available from both marinas for half day from 8AM-12PM or 12:30-4PM, or full day 8AM-4PM. All fishing tackle and gear is included. At South Seas, call x3326.
Guests can fish anywhere on the resort's property as long as they have a Florida fishing license. Kids under 16 don't need a license and can participate in the resort's GoFish program where they will receive training from fishing experts at the T-Dock near the pool complex.
Also at the T-Dock are rentals of waverunners and parasailing.
For boat rentals, go to Bayside Marina. They have pontoons and power boats available for half or full day from 8AM-7PM, from South Seas, call x3455.
Other opportunities for boating are through the Offshore Sailing School and the resort's GoSail program for kids 9-16. They have courses for beginners to advanced, as well as short courses for fun!
Tween Waters Inn has lots of boating options for their guests ........ dockage, boat rentals, fishing charters, kayaking, canoeing, stand-up paddle boarding, and sailing ........ plus wildlife, shelling, and sightseeing tours.
We did the stand-up paddle boarding ........... it took us a little awhile to get coordinated enough to stay balanced and not fall in! Pretty soon we were able to paddle to where we wanted to go and had a lot of fun.
We were in the calm waters of Roosevelt Channel, but if you want more of a challenge, you can also paddle board in gulf waters from YOLO Watersports.
Think of YOLO Watersports if you're staying in town, either at a vacation rental, Captiva Island Inn, Jensens on the Gulf, or Jensens Marina.
You can rent sailboats, waverunners, surfboards, banana boats, and stand-up paddle boards right from the beach .......... or go parasailing!
We went parasailing and it was amazing! Go to my YOLO page to see lots of photos of our parasailing trip.
They are located on the Andy Rosse Lane, near the end of the street, close to the beach.
