Gator Bites, Issue #066 - The Joy of Food
September 01, 2018
Hi

The Joy of Food

Hello everyone!

As I write this issue, we are having one of our typical daily afternoon thunderstorms.

We've had a lot problems with either red tide or blue-green algae clogging up our beaches this summer, killing wildlife and making visitors sick. It appears to be finally clearing up, thankfully.

In this issue of Gator Bites, I focus on some different restaurants i had the pleasure of trying: The Lodge in the River District of Fort Myers, Rusty's in downtown Cape Coral, and Hooked Island Grill out on Matlacha.

The River District of downtown Ft Myers has so many good restaurants, but nothing beats The Lodge on a boiling hot summer day.

The theme of this restaurant is a ski lodge with murals of snowy mountains. You feel so much cooler right away when you enter and see the wintry scenes!

The menu features meat in all its glory including some wild game dishes. I had their amazing ribs. There are several choices of sides, make sure you get the corn bread, it's so yummy!

If you like sports bars and good food at treasonable prices, Rusty's Raw Bar and Grill on Club Square in the Cape serves hearty seafood, burgers, sandwiches, and more. I had the shrimp basket with fries and coleslaw.

There's nothing more waterfront than the dining at Hooked Island Grill, the former Island Cafe on the Bay, their outdoor patio is directly over Matlacha Pass.

Go for seafood, broasted specials, and burgers, sandwiches, and platters. Or, just go for drinks, a snack, or dessert. Their Key Lime Pie is delicious ..... and the view is just gorgeous!

My next newsletter will come out in December.

Have a good fall season!
Tammy

For those of you who have read Weird Cape Coral, but haven't found the treasure yet, here are some hints:

Look for 3 places in the ebook where it says "treasure" in blue. Click on it, because each is a link to one of 3 pages on my website.

Each page is a place that I think is a treasure in Cape Coral.

Once you figure out the 3 places, email me from my Contact Me page and I will send you a password to a secret page with more information about buying real estate here in Cape Coral.

Have fun.......if you need help -> Contact Me
