Gator Bites, Issue #065 - Best of Naples June 29, 2018 |
Hi Some of My Favorite ThingsHello everyone! Heat and humidity have arrived, but there are plenty of things to do for summer in SWFL and remain cool. In this issue of Gator Bites, you can read about some ideas for summer fun in Naples.
Although Naples has so many beautiful, waterfront shopping plazas, but my favorite place to go is S 5th Ave. Elegant turn-of-the-century buildings line the street filled with inviting shops and cafes. Check out Cambier Park and S 3rd Street as well. My favorite beach in Naples is at Delnor-Wiggins State Park at the end of Immokalee Rd. The beach is located between Barefoot Beach in Bonita Springs and Vanderbilt Beach in Naples. A thin strip of soft white sand with scattered shells and shaded by trees opens onto aquamarine waters. There are 4 parking lots, clean bathrooms, and a concession stand in parking lot 4 that sells hot dogs, hamburgers, ice cream, etc. For 2018, parking is cheap ....... $4 for one person all day, or $6 for a carload of people all day!
Two of my favorite things are the beach and listening to live music. You can do both at the Naples Beach Hotel. Their Summer Jazz on the Gulf runs once a month from June through September. Bring a chair, but you're not allowed to bring in food or beverages. You can purchase them there or eat beforehand. We usually bring a picnic to Lowdermilk Park where you'll park and catch the shuttle to the hotel. You can sit on the lawn or the beach ........ you'll definitely want to see the sunset while the band takes a break!
My next newsletter will come out in September. Enjoy summer!
Don't forget to check out my soaps, body butters, salt scrubs and beach glass jewelry at Coastal Island Creations. Follow me on my Salt + Sea Soaps Facebook page.
And, I'm year round at the Sunset Farmer's Market at Surfside Shops on Tuesdays from 2-7PM. The market is outside in the parking lot October - May, inside near the Dollar Tree from May - September. From October - May, I'm selling at the Saturday Cape Coral Farmers Market at Club Square off SE 47th Terrace and SE 10th Place from 8AM-1PM from October through April.
