Gator Bites, Issue #073 - Out and About Again! June 28, 2020 |
Hi Out and About Again!Hello everyone! With the lifting of some restrictions due to Covid-19, I've been able to get out and try some more restaurants. CDC Guidelines were being followed, with servers wearing masks and social distancing practiced in the dining rooms. Also,since I'm pretty sure I got the virus in February, I felt comfortable going back out in public. I and some of my family members had the flu with a terrible cough where we couldn't catch our breath, along with other symptoms mentioned in the media. We have all recovered, fortunately. I hope all of you are healthy and well!
The Monkey Bar in Cape Coral has been a local favorite for seafood and steak ..... and live music since 2006. I decided to try their "world famous" Grouper Panini with Cole Slaw on the side, and it was delicious! We sat outside since we had just come from the beach, but you can also find more elegant dining inside the air conditioning.
The Prawnbroker in Fort Myers on MacGregor Blvd has been a local favorite for fine dining since 1982! I went with my Dad for Father's Day ...... for seafood, of course. I got the Broiled Scallops and my Dad got Mussels, both were excellent!
My youngest daughter and her familu recently moved back to the Cape from Asheville, NC. They were looking for a restaurant with vegan and gluten-free options, and an artsy vibe that would remind them of Asheville. They found it in Cafe You, an Australian-inspired coffee shop and natural restaurant open for breakfast and lunch. We stopped by to try their gluten-free Chocolate Hazelnut Cake ...... very yummy! We will definitely go back to try other items on their menu. The cafe is a gem that is easy to miss, it's located in the industrial section off of Viscaya in Cape Coral.
