Gator Bites, Issue #020 - Boot Scooting in Cape Coral
April 06, 2012
Boot Scooting and Airboating
The snowbirders are heading home and we've had a couple of days where it hit 90, whew!
In this newsletter I talk about who I recommend for fishing charters and airboat tours, also 2 home builders, vacation rentals and homes in Cape Harbour, Tarpon Point ....... Tarpon Point Marina, a country dance club, and updates on Cafe Pignoli.
But first, I built a page with the latest on Cape Coral's Future Vision Plan for downtown from the Community Redevelopment Agency, the CRA.
If you're coming down to the Cape this month, you may want to check Cape Coral Coupons to get deals and discounts on restaurants, shows, spa treatments, boat rides, and more.
And, don't forget that Cardboard Boat Regatta is happening in April, it's pretty hilarious!
If you're here already and wondering where to go for Easter Service, I'd like to welcome you to Vineyard Community Church! There will be 3 services: 8:30AM, 10AM, and 11:45AM.
Cape Coral was built in the early 60's when mid-century modern was in vogue. It looks rather outdated, so the Cape Coral CRA has short term and long term plans to modernize the downtown area to make it more attractive.
I'm pretty excited about it and I have photos of drawings and links to the actual plan, which you should see, especially if you are thinking of investing in Cape Coral property.
The CRA is looking for investors to get the project started as the economy seems to be turning around for the better.
Speaking of investing in Cape Coral real estate, I put up pages about 2 builders I recommend:
I also have lots of photos and some videos of 2 absolutely beautiful waterfront gated communities I recommend:
Tarpon Point, for either.
Tarpon Point also boasts a marina, voted best in Southwest Florida:
You can hire Capt Gary for fishing charters, either there or at Cape Harbour:
Another fun thing to do is go on an Airboat Tour over in Matlacha with Captain Bobby:
Another best in Southwest Florida goes to best night club, Cape Coral's own Dixie Roadhouse, where you can country line dance, get drink specials, and have parties.
We learned how to boot scoot with the best of em' and had a blast!
And I think a best of award should go to Cafe Pignoli as well. With new owners, menu, and decor, you will have to give them a try. They have still kept Motown Night, Pasta Night, and Sunday Jazz Brunch, and new for Monday is Burgers and Brew.
We took a road trip to Arcadia, Florida to see Solomans Castle!
It's out in the middle of nowhere in the little town of Ona, west of Arcadia. We had a lovely afternoon touring the castle's grounds and museum with it's art and sculptures, having lunch at their Boat in the Moat Restaurant, and enjoying a ride in the country.
Everything was built by artist Howard Solomon, and you need to go because you just can't believe this crazy place!
Have a Happy Easter!
Sunset Celebration the first Wednesday of the month.
Take a break and come to Cape Coral!
For those of you who have read Weird Cape Coral, but haven't found the treasure yet, here are some hints:
Look for 3 places in the ebook where it says "treasure" in blue. Click on it, because each is a link to one of 3 pages on my website.
Each page is a place that I think is a treasure in Cape Coral.
Once you figure out the 3 places, email me from my Contact Me page and I will send you a password to a secret page with more information about buying real estate here in Cape Coral.
Have fun.......if you need help ->
