Cooking Demo, Art Nights in Matlacha,
Christmas Tree Lighting Festival

Hi from Tammy at come-to-cape-coral.com,

I'm getting my newsletter out a little earlier than usual because of the holidays!

A few weeks ago, I was invited by our lovely resort, Marina Village, to go to their Craft and Cuisine cooking demo.

Held monthly on the second Tuesday, this month's demonstration was all about holiday desserts!

Do you like Creme Brulee? Well, it's one of my favorites and I was so happy to see that it was part of the menu.

While Chef Jim Shiebler showed us how to make 3 different delicious desserts, we were served a gourmet lunch.

It was such a nice way to spend the afternoon, I definitely want to go back to learn, to get inspired, and to sample more of Chef Jim's dishes.

To find out what else we ate and to get more information, go to my new Craft and Cuisine website page.

Another fun thing to do is to go to Creative Coast Weekends in Matlacha and Pine Island, held the second weekend from November-April.

The galleries and funky shops have art nights and weekends with food, music, drumming, storytelling, and other events.

We try to go several times a year, you never know with artists and what kind of wackiness you might see.

Hey......you might even see a mermaid!

Go to my new Creative Coast Weekends page to see lots of photos and more info.

The Cape Coral Christmas Tree Lighting Festival is in early December.

Cape Coral Parkway is closed off and you can go sledding on a hill of snow, watch dance groups perform, get food, and have your kids go on all the bouncy rides.

When the tree is lit, fireworks go off, snow machines help to set the mood, and Santa arrives to listen to little ones' wish lists.

I didn't make it to the Christmas Boat Parade this year, I was stuck in bed with the flu, but to find out more, go to my Festivals page.

We went back to Cafe Pignoli for their BBQ night and it was awesome!

I had some terrific, mouth-watering ribs and they make the best potato salad.

This month, I also got up a page to help you find things more easily on my website: Sitesearch and Sitemap.

Merry Christmas from us,

Tammy, Nicole, and Sophie
