Taste of the Cape

Taste of the Cape - Great food, music, activities and fun, you'll want to bring the whole family out to this Cape Coral festival!

Have you ever had a problem deciding which restaurant to go to and wished you could just have a taste to help make your decision?

Well, now you can! And, in a very fun way.

The festival has moved to Tarpon Point Marina for 2020.

The upcoming date is February 16, 2020 from 11AM-6PM.  It features a long line-up of about 20 restaurants offering 1-3 small dishes for a fee for you to try.

To make it easier, you buy tickets for $1 per ticket at various booths, along with a map and list of menus.  Each food sample costs between 3-8 tickets.

What I did was scope out all the booths first and make my plan of attack.  That way I knew how many tickets to buy.

You'll also want to go as early as you can before popular items run out!

I knew I wanted to try the Crab and Corn Beignets from Slates.  Well, I got to the head of the line and got the last ones ........ they were absolutely delicious ........ phew!

I also tried bbq ribs from Stevie Tomato's, chicken wings from Nemo's, and pistachio macarons from French Press.  Mmmmmmmmmm, all were good.  Larger portions are available from some of the vendors if you really love your sample of food.

There are tables set up in different spots so you can sit down to dine ......... that is, if you can wait to eat!

Or, have a seat to listen to the music.  You'll want to plan to stay for or come back to listen to the sunset concert of pops and light classical tunes performed by the Gulf Coast Symphony.

Enjoy the arts and crafts fair, family fun zone, and other live entertainment.

The event is hosted by the Cape Coral Chamber of Commerce  and the Gulf Coast Symphony.  For any information or go to the Taste of Cape Coral website.

You'll be happy to know that 100% of the proceeds go to charity to benefit children through college scholarships from the chamber and fund the symphony's musical outreach program for children.

For the best Cape Coral food, go to Taste of the Cape!  Here is a partial list of some of the other restaurants: Fathoms, Pincher's, Moe's, and Iguana Mia.
