They've been in business since 1991, and there's a very good reason for that ..... the food and service are excellent.
I think one of the secrets to their success are the traditional family recipes passed down through generations that have been used to make the dishes that continue to be popular with their patrons, for both new and regular ones. Marias Pizzeria and Italian Restaurant is located in downtown Cape Coral, and is tucked away on SE 46th Lane .......... find it and you'll be delighted!
The decor is reminiscent of old Italy, with decorative painting on the walls including a scene of the Ponte Vecchio in Florence. Seating is comfortable and spread in several rooms that lend a more intimate setting.
It was raining when I went, but they have some outdoor seating in front of the restaurant for when the weather is better.
I ordered a handmade cheese pizza with added toppings and was able to request a thin crust ....... my favorite kind of pizza!
I saw some acquaintances while I was there, and they had ordered a square Deep Dish Sicilian Pizza that looked amazing!
Also on the menu are: specialty and white pizzas, calzones, strombolis, appetizers, soups, salads, Italian entrees, pasta dishes, chicken wings and tenders, subs, desserts, and children's menu.
For appetizers I sampled: Maria's famous Housemade Meatballs, Bruschetta Rustica with tomatoes and basil, Fried Calamari with Marinara Sauce on the side, a salad with Italian and Balsamic salad dressings, and a Garlic Roll .............. OMG, it was all so delicious!
Then my pizza came ........... mmmmmmm, I loved it! It was a perfect combination of sauce, cheese and toppings ......... and I liked how the toppings went over the crust so each bite was full of cheesy/saucy goodness.
The sausage was crumbled the way I like it, and the basil snipped in small pieces all over each slice for ease of eating and flavor in every bite.
Sorry, no room for dessert ........ maybe next time! I found out that the most popular dishes are the meatballs, Maria's Deluxe Pizza and Maria's Deluxe White Pizza.
On Mondays, all pizzas except the Sicilian Pizza are 1/2 price when you dine in and order a beverage besides water.
Other dine-in daily specials include: discounted Chicken Parmesan on Tuesdays, and 1/2 price wine bottles on Wednesdays.
Order online for pizza delivery or pick-up. They are open Sunday - Thursday from 4-9PM, and Friday - Saturday from 4-10PM.
