Buckingham Blues Bar
The Buckingham Blues Bar is the best place to go for all you lovers of live blues and rock!
Located in Buckingham, Florida ........ east of Ft Myers ........ the bar is famous for its monthly Backyard Bluesfest.
Blues bands from the area and around the country play on one Saturday each month during season from 2-7PM, with the gates opening at 1PM.
Tommy Lee Cook, the owner of the bar, often plays with his band and he's quite good! The festival is held in a field behind the bar on property that also includes Tommy's small farm.
When you arrive, you'll park in a grove of trees to the side of the bar, and pay a $7 cover charge at the back gate.
You'll immediately see seating on the grass to your right ......... bring your own chairs and some sunscreen!
To the left, there's a lanai with some seats for dining and where they serve hot dogs, hamburgers, baked beans, and chips for an extra charge.
Follow the path to the back yard and you'll see seating at tables under some shady spots to cool off under.
Just beyond is the beverage booth and the rest of the grassy area for sitting and dancing in front of the stage.
Off to the right is a covered pavilion with picnic tables and seating for more shade. You can also sit behind the stage if you have a large group that wants to talk or play Corn Hole.
Then just beyond, you've got to meet the Bucky, the beer-drinking mule. Bucky can usually be found at the fence behind the stage area.
After the festival is over, the bands move into the bar to continue the party. Open Blues Jams are Sundays from 3-6PM and Wednesdays from 8-11PM with no cover charge.
There is also no cover charge on Pool Nights, Thursdays from 7:30PM-Midnight. Most Friday nights from 9PM-Midnight, the bar features live music with a $10 cover charge.
